Last night there was a party at Elisa's, and it was good to see everyone. Especially Little Matt who has a goatee and looks like VI Lenin now. Micah and I had the same vintage 70s leather jackets on, and the more I look at Rachel the more I'm convinced she is Witch Hunter Robin. I had a lovely time, and it really helped me feel better after the lame week at work. Gene gave me a ride kindly, and Tyler took me home in his shiny spiffy car.

We woke up at a reasonable hour and spent all afternoon wandering and shopping. First to Frys, then to the game stores in the mall, then to Quality Seafood for lunch and pounds of ahi tuna and finally to Dragon's Lair where I dropped $130 on books.

I'd really like to play White Wolf again. So I bought the Time of Judgement for both Vampire and Werewolf, and a couple clan books. Dragon's Lair is ordering the Witch Hunter Robin series, because they are sold out everywhere. I looked in every single place that sold anime. Gah.

Alan's going to make an ahi tartare with a cilantro lime oil tomorrow. Yum. I stuffed myself on fried scallops, hushpuppies, a huge crab cake, fries and cole slaw at Quality. Yum again.

So we can't discuss politics in the Austin community, but people can make moronic posts like this because someone else posted about creating a local feminist community? I seriously wonder why I even bother. There are exactly four communities on my user info that I interact with other than the local group. Is it worth the near daily irritation?

The older I get, the more I despise so many people. It seems so unjust that the thoughtful and interesting people in the world are so often drowned out by the caterwauling of the vast hordes of idiots. I love the internet, honestly. I think it is one of the coolest things ever, because we can now interact with people we never would have known. I'm all about the global village. It is a shame there are so many village idiots.

Anyone who wants to be sheltered from life's harsher details, anyone who deliberately chooses ignorance over knowledge, and anyone who can't be bothered to think will be shipped into the sun when I become Supreme Ruler of the Galaxy.
