There were two women standing the middle of the northbound traffic lanes on Lamar this afternoon. Not in the center turn lane, but in the middle of the traffic. They both had babies with them. I almost pulled over to chew them out.

The traffic has been crazy with SXSW this week. Going anywhere near the center of town is a headache. Though on my way down, the sky looked very similar to my icon. The top of the tower was orange tonight.

Sat in Metro and talked to Rachel for a few hours, which was good. Watched some stupid people argue with Greg. Metro really needs a sign that says "Do not taunt Greg." Dangerous business, that is.

I am watching the Food Network, which is usually the highlight of my Saturday nights. There's a special on a pastry chef competition. Each team must produce five different desserts, one chocolate sculpture and one sugar sculpture in 13 hours over two days. So stressful.

Perhaps I should have stayed at Metro longer. I was tired however. I'm not even up to making this entry more poetic.

No more anonymous comments here. I'm sick of it.

I shouldn't read the internet so soon after waking. It only pisses me off.

Fuck that vegan moral superiority bullshit. There's something delightfully evil about knowing that in order to sustain large crops of grains you end up with a lot of dead field mice. Oh, I am so going to use that line on the next self righteous vegan who tries to make me feel guilty for eating meat.

Thankfully my friends who are vegetarian/vegan/whatever who are not militant about their choices and don't feel the need to run around trying to guilt others into adopting their behaviour. I will kindly eat their share of the world's meat so they won't have to. Everyone wins!

Karen and I were funny. We both managed to talk ourselves out of spending money in Pier One. Though I think I was just lucky I didn't bring my credit card, or I would have ended up with that fancy silk throw and a bunch of shiny objects.

We ate super delicious ice cream from Amys, and sat on the cows at the Arboretum. I had chocolate orange almond with marshmallows. Mmm marshmallows.

Rachel gave me a mix cd last night that kicks much ass.

I am so sleepy and it is only 7pm. Cripes.

- trying to be selfless in the face of adversity it bloody damned hard, but it has to be done even when you don't want to do it. I need to try harder.

- having any sense of moral superiority about food is stupid. For once, I agree with Metro bathroom scrawls.

- scratching a cat belly is a dangerous but rewarding thing.

- leaking pipes cause more havoc than just about any other thing. I'd rather deal with the damn rodents again than have any more leaking pipes. At least the cat has frightened away the rodents.

- Liv Tyler is really cute.

- altering a sleep schedule is not fun, but supremely necessary.

- reading about the end of the world makes me sad, even if it is fictional

- the life of a ninja is complex and full of peril

Banning smoking at the beach. As if I didn't already have enough reasons to be wary of California.

If we're going to get all high and mighty about pollution and health concerns, then along with banning smoking they can ban soft drinks, cars, anything in cheap plastic wrappers made with less than 50% recycled content, fast food, and about eighty billion other things.

It's bad enough my government is trying to cut into the Bill of Rights, but now they want to tell me what I can and can not do on my own free time? Fuck that. Shut the fuck up and go somewhere else when I'm smoking. Argh.

Reading the news makes my blood pressure boil. Israel launches another rocket attack and kills Yassin of Hamas. What a brilliant move. Let's all keep perpetuating the violence because no one can bloody damn agree on anything. One of my first aspects as Supreme Overlord of the Earth will be to bomb that entire region off the face of the planet. If you kids can't share, then no one gets it.

In more pleasant news reading, I found this NY Times Magazine article on philosophical counseling. Oddly enough, this is something I would really want to try. It might help. After all most of my issues are philosophical ones at the core.

I, Robot
- holy freaking cow. This looks awesome. You know, Will Smith is sometimes a really awesome actor. Yay for sci-fi movies!

Shaolin Soccer
- oh man oh man oh man oh man. What a freaking amazing movie!

Watching those improved my mood immensely. I have also heard many good things about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I might go see it despite my aversion to Jim Carrey.
