Tsar Slate killed another two mice last night! We found them this morning, one by the couch and another by the door. Definitely mice though, which is interesting. The ones Alan and I killed looked more like rats, and were much bigger. It's good to know the kitty is a definite killer.
I just finished a delicious lunch of moo shu pork and cheese wontons. It was a much deserved indulgence, after all the work I did this morning. Despite getting up quite late for my new schedule, I cleaned out all the trash from the bedroom, vacuumed straightened the giant persian rug, and fixed the bed. My bed was a full size and just not big enough for both of us to sprawl. But combining Alan's futon bed and my bed on the floot worked out beautifully. The futon mattress is on the box spring, and my mattress is so thick that there is hardly any difference in height. Now we have one gigantic bed, yay. We ran four loads of laundry and we need more quarters to do at least four more to wash everything. But at least so far we have all the sheets clean, so I can make up the enormous bed of doom. We need more pillows!
I feel sore and virtuously tired from all the cleaning and moving and runnng back and forth. We took out at least two garbage bags worth of trash, mostly popsicle and cigarette wrappers. I did find an entire pack of cigarettes, which was kinda cool. Lots of packing peanuts from wedding presents and computer parts. Many, many pennies. I wish we could trade all the pennies in for quarters, though maybe I will just take them to one of those change machines in the grocery store.
Gods above, it feels so good to have at least one room of the house super clean. Alan and I are both kinda messy, but sometimes it drives me insane. Today I just got up and started cleaning, the mp3s on my laptop blaring since I don't have a stereo anymore. It reminded me of the times Melynda and I worked up the nerve to clean, times which were few and far between. But still, it would be lots of fun and we would race around with something like Liz Phair in the stereo blasting away.
