I'm watching the Alabama game, because it's the most interesting one on television right now. Though I suppose the Oklahoma State game is more relevant. I wish the A&M game had been televised, because apparently it's in overtime right now. Alan's at the game with his cousin Jason, and hoepfully they are having a grand time.

The sun just came out. It was thundering all morning, and I wish it would go back to raining. It's hard to tell the passage of time without sunlight and it makes my weekend feel timeless and unending.

My package from 5th Element arrived today. I ordered some things from them, based on a recommendation from Mielikki and I'm quite pleased with the purchase. They have soap things and tea and various interesting items. I picked up a necklace with a blue glass vial to hold something from my Black Phoenix acquisitions, and some linen sprays.

My drug dealer neighbors are blasting their crappy music, which I can hear over my television. I can't stand living next to these people.

football anthropology

Ever since the first football game I covered for the paper, I've had a tendency to be a smartass and describe games in goofy psuedo-anthrolopological terms. My notes for that first game were things like "7:23pm: Native dance ritual begins" and "8:14pm: Alpha males achieve symbolic victory by means of throwing pig skin balls through posts."

That said, I love the absolutely creepy and hilarious Longhorn Band. Whenever it's a fourth down, they break into the refrain of "The Eyes of Texas." I can't help but think it must be intimidating and funny to the guys on the field.

We're currently spanking Tech at their house. That is also kinda funny.

For the record, I enjoy sports that combine incredible moments of grace and physicality under pressure, fights, and moments of unintentional homoeroticism. Those sports are usually hockey and football. Go figure.

Ahhh too little too late Tech. What is up with the large number of personal fouls? I've not heard the dead ball call so many times in one game.

I'm restless and caffienated. I should be doing something productive, but I'm not.
