it's october and it's not wet
Oct. 18th, 2005 04:09 pmI spent the majority of my weekend not touching a computer. Consequently, I'm wildly out of the loop on so many things. I did sit down long enough to be enthralled by the Yule update by the Lab. I want so much! I think I've narrowed it down to Nuclear Winter and Sugar Cookie for myself. Though the Midnight Mass one is so tempting, as it is the scent of the incense used in solemn Roman Catholic services.
Work was headache inducing today. I don't know what is in the water out there. Meth, probably. One of our more annoying chronic callers got me today. I feel bad for the woman, I truly do. She's elderly and crazy and probably lonely. But she's also a hateful beast, and she whines the same thing over and over into the phone. Urgh. I feel bad for the caseworkers out there. Apparently she gives them such hell that only a supervisor deals with her now.
At least the weather is good, even though it hasn't rained lately. I would like some rain. There are hundred of white cowslips growing in a field near by house. Some of them are purple. I love those flowers. They look like little stars.
I've been watching Rome, my only big television indulgence other than House and West Wing re-runs at Tyler's place. (I've also managed to see The Chronicles of Riddick and St. Elmo's Fire at least a couple times in the past month.) I love Rome. It's absurd and brilliant. It's also full of the most inappropriate and hilarious one-liners I've heard lately. I'm just dying for a situation in which I can say "She'd better fuck like Helen of Troy with her ass on fire!" It's enjoyable, all history bits aside. The past episode was excellent and I love the girl they picked to play Cleopatra. She's got the mad Egyptian Queen vibe in spades.
I need a project but I haven't progressed much beyond attempting to clean my room a little. I want to make a collage of the glossy postcards BPAL sends with every order, but I don't think I have enough. Maybe that means I should make an order?
