Last night Sarah and I watched Transamerica, which was brilliantly funny and sad all at once. It's the story of a male to female transsexual who is about to have the big surgery when she discovers she has a son across the country. Her therapist won't sign off on the surgery until she deals with this, so she ends up going to New York to bail the kid out of jail. From there, they start driving back to Los Angeles. It's a sweet film, which many strange and sometimes endearing moments. I especially love the Navajo cowboy. The scenes with Bree's family are wonderful, in that train wreck cringing sort of way.

I have a headache this morning, from eating too many chips and drinking cheap alcohol. Ahh, sweet, cheap alcohol. We like to mix our highbrow culture with our white trash tendencies. Hence, watching an incredible movie about a transsexual while drinking Arbor Mist. Next time we should watch something like Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle while drinking expensive vodka and eating smoked salmon.

Sarah stained her bookshelf. It's a beautiful cherry wood color, and looks quite lovely. I am full of envy. I need a new bookshelf. It will be a happy home for her books. She completely destryoed a shirt in the process, but that's a small price to pay for a beautiful bookshelf.

Today I must be productive. Today i will get contacts! Today perhaps I will get sunglasses. Today, today, today.

Wow. The difference a new prescription makes is amazing. I'm wearing contacts for the first time ever. It only took a few tries to get them in my eyes. I bought a $14 pair of plastic sunglasses from HEB on the way home. It's really grand.
