Tonight at the Draft House we saw Raiders: The Adaptation. Basically in 1982 three boys decided to make a shot for shot remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark. For something largely done on Betamax recorders with the most minimal budgets and costumes, this is amazing. Seriously. I was astounded over and over by what they accomplished. It's all kids! They were eleven when this started, and it lasted seven years. I can't believe their parents didn't kill them for some of this stuff. Well, apparently they grounded them for the summer after they set one of the guys on fire. But they recreate everything, including the truck chase, the ships, and some crazy special effects for the end sequence. It was incredible. I am so glad i went to see this.

Productivity has not been the name of the day. I finished Black Powder War, read Texas Monthly, ran to the grocery store and bought the wrong potatoes, ate chocolate for lunch, contemplated writing smut set during the Napoleonic war, and started messing with my cds. I've been adding some of my things to my iTunes collection, so I could make Sarah a mix cd. making a decent mix is hard, but satisfying.

am I packing my bag for my trip tomorrow? No. I'm doing things like watching Hard Rock Hallelujah for the millionth time. Go Lordi. I'm also wondering when I developed a crush on a boy band. Well, at least I picked a cute Eastern European boy band like O-Zone. Someone also please explain to me what kind of drugs the guys in Muse are taking to make videos like this. I would take some, so long as I don't sound like a bad Radiohead cover.

March of the Emperor is awesome, and you should watch it right now.
