I am a goldfish
Jul. 31st, 2006 08:06 pmHugh Laurie on Inside the Actor's Studio was brilliant. He's an interesting man. It's peculiar to see these deeply personal glimpses during the course of this interview. I howled during the student question time, as someone asked Laurie if Dr. House should end up with Cameron, Cuddy or Wilson. Laurie's response was that House would probably work through all three in some order.
Today I spent some five hours driving between going from Melynda's to my aunt's home, out to visit the house site in Magnolia and then home. I must be a grown up now, as I drove on the Beltway during rush hour traffic and didn't die. Eight to ten lanes or unmitigated hostility and no turn signals, where 65mph seems to be the speed minimum. Vaguely terrifying, but six years ago I wouldn't have even entertained the idea.
Yesterday we went to the Astros/Arizona game. My aunt arranged a skybox as a birthday present for my grandfather, and kept the whole thing a secret. It was a nice way to watch a game, sitting up there. I cheered for the other guys because I felt bad for them, so far from home and so few of their own fans around. My mother was mad at me because Arizona ended up winning. Today we visited the partially completed house out in Magnolia. Five thousand square feet of ridiculously tall house. It will interesting to see how my grandmother decorates the place.
My infant cousin has a piercing avian shriek that is the loudest and most interesting sound. It's shrill. I held a baby for the first time in my life. My cousin has it easy - if she wants to sleep she gets to hand that baby over to her mother or her grandmother. Lots of hands willing to take on that baby. He'll be spoiled no doubt. My grandparents are very amused.
