the morning after the confetti
Nov. 8th, 2006 07:48 am“It’s been a long time since our party really had something to celebrate,” Ms. McCaskill told the crowd. “So have a good time. You deserve it.”
I'll be honest here, I find myself fighting back tears when dealing with some of these races and issues. The price of caring too much is that you find yourself looking ridiculous at some point. When I got up this morning and checked the NY Times to see Mary McCaskill's victory, I cried because thank heavens she won that race. It was by far one of the ugliest things ever.
Dear Rush Limbaugh: So you think Micheal J Fox was making his symptoms look worse than they really are? I invite you to come visit my family, and see if you think my grandfather is overplaying his symptoms.

All seven of the bond packages passed in Austin, to give money to affordable housing, building new roads and sidewalks, preserving environmentally sensitive land in the Barton Springs zone, funding cultural institutions, a new library, and funding new EMS stations as well a police academy. Rick Santorum went down in flames.
So there are some good things, despite being stuck with four more years of Governor Good Hair. How can a man whose approval ratings are so low still win? Voter apathy is a big problem in Texas. Sandra was saying last night that she used to never vote because she didn't think it would ever make a difference. But she realized we have to, because if we don't fight at all there's never going to be any way for us to change things.
