with my hands open, I just keep hoping

The weather has actually become sort of winter weather, with grey skies and rain. There's even a bare prediction of snow flurries for the weekend in the Hill Country. It is snowing up in places like the Panhandle. Christmas will actually be cold this year, unlike last year's flip flop weather.

Today's been better. I've felt more like I was accomplishing something, and people were more decent on the phone. Though I did have a man call an hour ago to say that his girlfriend was too crazy to take care of the baby and that's why she just walked into his fist. I asked if she was hurt, and the guy replied, "Well, they said I broke her nose. She just ran down the street screaming for help like I was trying to hurt her or something. I think the neighbors called the cops." I pounded on my desk with mingled hilarity and rage. It was kind of a funny feeling. Now I wonder if I did a convincing job of making this guy believe that I believed his story.

Being a government employee will apparently save me 12% on my cell phone bill. Rock on.

The weekend can't really come here fast enough to make me happy. Actually, I'd just be happy for it to be this evening so I can go out and cause some trouble.
