I need coffee, badly
May. 20th, 2007 07:33 amThere are help wanted signs in every restaurant in the French Quarter it seems, and every waiter looks harried. In the diner round the corner, I think there really is only one waiter.
Yesterday I went to Cedar's drabble panel/workshop, which was fun. I think it was the first thing I've really enjoyed, as far as panels and whatnot go. It felt fun and relaxed. I read my lame drabble about Voldemort, so other people would not feel nervous. Later in the evening, I had an hour at the drabble booth, which was pretty fun. The people I wrote for really seemed to enjoy their drabbles and this made me happy. I also went to Cedar's reading, in which she read two pieces that I really love. I've read them before, but it was neat to hear them in the author's own voice and hear the way she sounds out the cadences of these things. She also read from a work in progress about Percy that sounds excellent.
I keep eating candy. This candy company, Southern Candy Makers makes the most delicious almond toffee I've ever eaten. But weirdly, I think I've lost several pounds in the last week. I did also find my ankle bracelet and fix where I pulled the jump ring off. I am so clumsy it is unbearable.
Today is the last day of the convention, and there is a masquerade ball tonight. I made my mask with lots of blue and black ribbon. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Meanwhile, I have a 9am keynote to attend. Jon Burlingame is going to talk about the film scores and John Williams. There will also be french toast. Yay.
