threeplusfire: (still me)
I woke up this morning to rain, and thunder at 6:17am. The grey, eerie light filled the rooms, and all I wanted was to stay home. It's raining in New York too, I learned from Racheline's post and how we're both thinking about the strange perfect weather. It is a Tuesday again, like the the one in 2001. It was Tuesday, a day without classes and I spent what felt like the entire day watching the news. On the steps at the UT Tower that night, there were hundreds of candles and the wax stains are still visible. It is all still strange and awful, and I don't know what to say about it even six years later.

This evening was exactly what I needed to recover from work. Druha Trava played the Cactus Cafe once again, and Professor Cravens gave us half price tickets to the show. It was excellent, with a mix of all sorts of pieces in their career. I thought of Sarah, because they have a song called "Sara" with the line "Do you remember Sara... when we smoked away the pain, with a cigarette?" and in Czech that is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Oh Czech lands, you take my heart.
