drive time

More and more I think Samstown is the album about growing up, at least for me. I listen to it in the car, and for whatever reason the songs highlight the shift in my life over the past year and a half. I feel older but not in any sad way necessarily.

This morning I contemplated skipping my exit and just driving on down the road, maybe to Houston to see Melynda. Maybe just as far as Ellinger for kolaches. I haven't felt that way in awhile, and I used to just associate it with the longing to start over somewhere else and being depressed. Maybe it is just the autumn light.

I created and made copies for a 12 page training manual today.

I just realized that Wimberly is a lot farther than I imagined and that I have to be there at 7am. This means leaving the house before 6am. Ugh. I think 35 is probably going to be the fastest drive but oh I hate that road. I hope I am not too tired for the gaming night on Saturday.

Elisa, Jim and Diego!

Hello family and friends! This is jim reporting from the hospital.

Elisa was scheduled for an induction starting last night due to low amniotic fluid. It was supposed to be a relaxing night last night, with the birth being later today but instead Elisa went into labor last night around 11. By 4 am she had been pushing for an hour but the baby was having difficulty getting out. His pulse was dropping between contractions and the doctor recommended a c-section. Within 30min she was in surgery and the baby was born at 4:45 am. Both are healthy and recovering nicely. We will be spending the next 2 days in the hospital for standard observation and should be sent home by monday.

(For all my college friends - is it wrong that I wanted to call Jim and ask if Deigo had a giant head like Jim did as a baby? Bwahahaha. I wonder if his mother will ask that question.)
