homemade oreos and the thick syrupy light of evening

I couldn't sleep again, again! So I've been pattering around since four in the morning. I've done a lot of reading, a bit of writing, and spent way too much time playing video games. Well, could be worse.

My accomplishment today was cooking baking. I made chocolate sandwich cookies from the beautiful cookbook my aunt Tricia gave me at Christmas. They are essentially Oreos, chocolate cookies surrounding a ganache-like filling. So very, very good. They are only labor intensive in the assembly. I wish I had more counter space for rolling out cookie dough.

My goals for this evening are to eat pizza for dinner, shop online for a new headset and shelving for the kitchen and library, and be lazy. So far, so good.
