one last question, groceries, crunches

[livejournal.com profile] halfacork -- As that I am work staring at a box of 96 crayons, what color would you be?
That is hard - I have a deep and abiding fondness for Cadet Blue, Cornflower, Midnight Blue. But I think I would go with Pine Green. I like that one.

Today's grocery shopping went well. I managed to keep to my list, used my permanent bags, didn't buy anything impulsively from the checkout line or the seasonal aisle and ended up spending less money than usual. I feel that I am making some progress on the goals I put in my 101 list. Though I can't seem to remember that I have chicken in the freezer, so I keep buying more chicken. Argh. In my defense, the chicken I bought today was the free range non-hormonal organic super wonder happy chicken. (It was on sale for half off the exorbinant price per pound.) So we will have lots of King Ranch Chicken sometime soon. I also obtained materials for home production of the Angry Whopper. (Which is essentially a burger with pickled jalapeno slices, jalapeno jack cheese, bacon and sauteed onions.)

In other 101 news, I am on Day 2 of a week of crunches. I won't tell you how many, because it is a pitiably small number. But I hope to increase them bit by bit.

phones aren't cows, sir

Beefed-Up Technology
From my new favorite website, http://notalwaysright.com/ (Note: I did not actually experience this, it is simply my favorite story from the first page of the site at the moment.)

Beefed Up Technology
Retail | Kansas City, MO, USA

(I was a customer at a cell phone store, observing the following exchange.)

Employee: “I’m sorry sir, but your phone has water damage, which isn’t covered by the warranty. You will have to purchase a new phone.”

Customer: “That’s ridiculous! I haven’t gotten the phone wet!”

Employee: “Have you used the phone in the rain? Sometimes, that’s all it takes to get the internals wet enough to damage the device.”

Customer: “Well, yes, but that doesn’t make any sense! Cows are in the rain all the time and they don’t die!”

Employee: “…”

Me: *interjecting* “Sir, cows aren’t electronic devices.”

Customer: *storms out*

(no subject)

I am apparently too full of random links today. However, this is probably the greatest VW commercial in ages. I did really enjoy the Pimp My Auto ads though.
