I am trying to find a reason for my apathetic feelings towards writing anything down.

After a week of hellish insomnia, I am thinking it is mostly okay.

Another week into the LJ Idol business - last week votes were conducted by "gatekeepers" and several people I like were cut. Now I am in the narrow field of the remaining forty. I must be tired, because I can't think of any witty allusions to throw in that sentence. My ideas for this week's topic, It's not what you think, remain nebulous and feckless.

The Arctic front is too slow. Outside the streets are misty and wet. I dislike the damp and fog. I am grateful for the rain. The drought has been worse this past year than we like to admit. This weather however makes me slow. I would rather it storm, freeze and move along.

I can't blame all of it on the weather. Something in me flounders. I dreamed last night about working at the hotline, about the careful and abbreviated language of the reports. If I could have kept doing my job without the bullshit of scheduling nonsense, micro-management, stats, and state employees who just go through motions incompetently - I might have stayed.

While I am mulling over Idol topic, I have come up with a fabulous idea for a Torchwood/James Bond crossover. Because we need this, yes? Harkness and Bond both in pursuit of the same object, sent by two competing government bodies, three small globes on a length of silk cord, hazards innumerable to the ordinary mortals of the world. Now only if I could find the right rhythm for all this action.

Jasmine is a high maintenance cat. She meows incessantly unless Mike is sitting on the sofa so she can be a lap cat. It is a good thing for Netflix and DVRs.

Reading a Faye Weldon novel right now. She is brilliant, and possibly one of my favorite modern authors. She has a cruel British wit, incisive to the bone.
