threeplusfire: (Aragorn woods)
We're home, our pockets filled with lembas bread, from the annual Lord of the Rings trilogy marathon screening and feasting. It was fantastic, as ever. Karen at the Drafthouse puts so much work into making this one of the single coolest events they do each year, such as spending crazy time perfecting the Irish coffee recipe and even working the floor with the servers.

My eyes hurt from crying, because I cry every time at some things like the riders coming down the hill with the dawn and Theoden's speech at Pelenor Fields and the look on Elrond's face at the coronation when he watches Arwen go to Aragorn and Sam talking Rosie Cotton.

This year's menu included drinks paired with everything. It was really, really damn good food and I am full to bursting.
