sunday afternoon meme, in color
Apr. 25th, 2010 04:54 pmI stole a meme from
splix, who said: Comment, and I'll give you a color. And then you post ten things that color that you like.
She gave me green.
1. Mint - Mint plants are green, and the flavor of mint tastes green to me. Of course, some mints are more green than others and some are blue green or pale pastel green or some are wintergreen saturated green. I love their coolness, their fragrance, their taste.
2. The green glass bottles of Perrier - a recent fondness, developed as I try to force myself to choose water as a beverage more often. I love the fat green glass, the comforting heft when it is filled with ice cold bubbling water.
3. Limes - Limes are definitely green. Limes are delicious and one of my favorite things. Limes are for cocktails, salsas, and pies. Limes make things fresh and zingy. Perrier Lime is perfection. I love the burst of zesty lime in the mouth.
4. Emeralds - Mike gave me a round, beautifully green emerald.
5. Green velvet sofas - Like this one here there is something that seems comfortable and fantastic and decadent about a green velvet sofa. I want to lay on one for hours with a book.
6. Squishable T-Rex - Green, gigantic and squishable. Is there anything not to love? He's pretty cute for a carnivorous dinosaur. Also, Squishable Tortoise rocks a different shade of green, a more relaxed demeanor and the same squishie joy.
7. My ottoman - Is is a nice, pale green color and extremely comfortable. It is the right height for my chair. Even the cat loves it and there is plenty of room for gigantor cat and my feet.
8. Williams Sonoma Green Le Creuset cookware - It's a lovely, rich green color and it is Le Creuset. Fancy!
9. Our green LED light strand - A couple years ago, Mike and I made a trip to IKEA where we found a curious strand of LED lights shaped like aspen leaves. We have them strung across the bank of windows in the living room and at night it makes a soft green glow so it is easy to walk around the house without turning on any lights.
10. A large number of pieces from Wyrding Studios - I have some neat pieces of green glass, green goldstone, shell, jaspers and many other green stones in my jewelry collection.
