It's a really lovely day, for the end of the year. I wish I could be more active, maybe clean the house. This point of recovery is the worst because I don't really hurt any more but if I do something like bend at the waist or spend too much time sitting then I ache. Walking to the mail box is still tiring. I'm so, so very ready to be done with this part.
Dec. 31st, 2010
in the golden afternoon
Dec. 31st, 2010 05:05 pmI'm totally stealing the format of this from
bodlon because I like it better than most end of the year quizzes.
Five things that were terrible about this year:
- My broken uterus and the ensuing havoc it wreaked.
- Awkward and awful interpersonal communication failures.
- A large beetle that caused in several hundred dollars of car repair.
- Going to therapy and realizing how awful some things really were.
- The TSA making it impossible for me to fly.
Ten things that were good about this year:
- Getting my uterus removed.
- Seeing one of my oldest friends again for the first time in more than a decade.
- Hearing from another old friend and knowing he is happy.
- Going to therapy and realizing I am not a bad, crazy person.
- Coming out of the closet about my messy, incomplete gender identity thing.
- Shaving my head.
- Seeing Racheline again after too long and going to Dragon*con.
- My eternally patient spouse and our talks before bed, and the bedtime stories.
- Drafthouse shows of incomparable awesome, like seeing Christopher Lloyd get out of a Delorean.
- Eating dinner at Wink for my 30th birthday.
Five things I want to do in 2011:
- Communicate better, everywhere.
- Go somewhere new, preferably without flying.
- Be somewhat healthier, physically and mentally.
- Write more fiction and finish something for once.
- Eat at Wink again.
That is the closest I can get to writing any sort of year end summary.
