Jul. 31st, 2011 10:50 amThe past week of either not being able to load LJ at all, or being unable to post/comment on LJ to the handful of entries that were getting through, was wretched. It made me angry and sad. Then when other events during the week made me angry and sad, I had no way to talk about them short of ruining a couple meals with Mike talking his ear off about it all.
It made me think hard about how much of my social life and my support comes from this space. It's frankly pretty depressing, especially as problems with Russian politics and DDOS attacks will continue to drive people away from here. The LJ Diaspora makes it almost impossible for one to follow everyone - some people retreat to Dreamwidth (I loathe that name and continue to think it was such a terrible choice) and some to Google Plus and some to blogs elsewhere and how can we even find each other in the shifting masks of the internet ball?
June was lovely. This July has been terrible.
