(no subject)

Another day, another fire. The news says it is contained but still burning. It destroyed a business, warehouses and 25 acres. I could hear the helicopter traffic, as it was just a few miles north of me, but the neighborhood trees blocked the view of the smoke.

It's astonishing how cool 95 starts to feel. There were clouds today, but no rain. I hear it rained further south in Travis County. I am envious. I have the buckets we use for yard stuff sitting on the brick patio on the side of the house, just in case it does rain. I'd like to install a real rainwater collection set up one of these days.

I wish there was some way we could get the giant parking lots of shopping centers set up with canopies to collect rain water. It would shade the cars! It would collect water!
