When I was a kid, I remember looking through my mother's box of things where she saved newspapers with historic headlines and other such things. She told me about being in school when they announced JFK died, and the terrible screaming arguments she had with her father over what happened at Kent State. I remember making an anti-war sign that I taped to my desk in 5th grade, terrified by the Headline News coverage of the bombs in green night vision light that I saw in the mornings before school.

There are things that people my age remember - where we were when Kurt Cobain died, when the planes crashed on September 11th.

I've been unable to pull myself away from the news coverage of what's happening with the Occupy protests. Especially what happened to the students protesting at UC Davis. I'm starting to wonder how bad it is going to get before something changes.
