the engineer of human souls
Sep. 15th, 2012 01:12 pm"But time is merciful to unloved ones. We learn to appreciate them when it is too late. Like everything else in life. It is always too late for everything in life." - Josef Skvorecky
Finished up one of my favorite novels again this morning, thinking about how I will never be able to write anything half so heartbreaking and beautiful. Skvorecky has a melancholy and humor that suffuses his work. In the heart of his stories, mono no aware beats in the twilight shadow of Cerna Hora, in the echo of jazz and reflected in the eyes of pretty girls.
