thanksgiving
Nov. 22nd, 2012 07:27 pmObligatory Thanksgiving post time.
I am profoundly, sincerely thankful for the friends in my life. The people who have known me since I was a crazy fucked up teen to my livejournal friends to my newest friends from the club and everyone between. I would not be here without the love and kindness and generosity of y'all. My friends have made possible so much of what is good in my life. I am so lucky you're still talking to me after all the crazy years.
Someone today told me that I live my life as if it is an amazing story. So maybe I should write more of it down.
Last night was glorious fun at Elysium. The music was different and quite good, so I danced for hours. I even helped one of my girl friends fend off a very awkward creeper. He had all the hallmarks of a recently arrived tech nerd with no idea how to interact with women, dressed exactly like every software intern dresses in belted jeans and a buttons down shirt. He just would not get the hell off Bon, so I stuck myself between them.
Creeper aside, I had an absolute blast. It was surprisingly busy, which I guess shows everyone wanted to sleep late today. I took chocolate chip pecan scones for my bartender and bouncer friends as well as all the other workers there.
Today I slept very late. Ate a giant bowl of blueberries and raspberries for breakfast. Mike and I went to eat our Thanksgiving meal at Luby's. The line was quite long and I think it took two hours all told. I didn't get my usual! Which was shocking. I had coleslaw and ham and cornbread stuffing, with sides of fried okra and macaroni and a dinner roll. Plus the beautiful chocolate ice box pie. It was nice.
I've spent a lazy afternoon on the internet, moderating the forums and listening to ridiculous stuff on teamspeak. Now is the time for the baking of the super German butter cookies. I convinced Mike to let me put purple sprinkles on some of them.
Tonight I'm going out again. There will be shenanigans at the club, and a potluck. Hopefully there will be something to dance to again.
