things I've done lately

I was thinking about making an entry about all the times I cried during the LOTR marathon. But then I realized it would be so long. I'm glad we got to see that last Sunday, right before the Hobbit came out. I enjoyed the hell out of it. The story is very different from LOTR in emotional ways, but the movie has all the beauty of Jackson's first production in Middle Earth. My heart always beats a little faster in my chest when they see Rivendell. Howard Shore knocked it out of the park with that score as well.

We ate delicious food, and that movie flew by - it did not feel like three hours at all.

I need to finish my Yuletide story. I never get it done ahead of time. I'm also writing a Christmas present story for my Norwegian friend, involving lobsters.

Went out to the Master Pancake mocks Christmas show, which was super entertaining. "No Cock for Christmas" is my new favorite Christmas song. (They improv Christmas songs in various genres, like reggae, based on Christmas stories from the audience. One lovely woman told about the time twenty years ago she came out to her parents on Christmas.)

Dancing was good - very good music last night. There were numerous people in Santa suits from a Santa pub crawl. Including some people with a toddler. Call me a kill joy, but a toddler does not belong in my goth club at midnight running around on the dance floor. I hope he's up on his shots. There was also a small fight on the floor, some losers who got into it with one of the regulars while I was dancing. The girl started throwing beer, and threw beer on me even. What a bitch. I had to physically grab her because I was afraid she would hit someone with the bottle. Fortunately it got broken up quickly. Still, it was during a good song and I was pissed.

Slept stupid late today. Now I'm going to be lazy. Watch the livestream, do some writing, maybe wrap a few Christmas presents.
