bookshelves

We acquired a second bookcase for the kitchen yesterday. All the cookbooks have moved onto the new shelf, the cupcake painting hopped onto the wall by the glass doors. I loaded James' dvds into the shelf on the edge of the living room. I can't find my own copies of Vampire Hunter D, so maybe I'll have to get new ones. I separated out the anime from the live action stuff, and alphabetized the anime. (Except Tenchi Muyo which ended up on the top shelf, just because there's enough Tenchi dvds to fill an entire shelf.) I should start watching them soon.

At IKEA last night we ate meatballs and bought a giant pack of vanilla scented tea lights. In the as-is section up front, I discovered a large book shelf of the style I liked, made half of black and half of white shelves. It was also on sale for less than the smaller shelf we were purchasing for the kitchen. An easy decision. The hard part was fitting it into my car. Eventually with the passenger seat folded down we managed to angle it enough to be able to close the back. Mike had to ride on the folded down back seat.

I am going to accept that I will never own a matched set of furniture. That is okay.
