Just saw the video for "Paradise City" on VH1 Classic. *sigh* And now they're showing Iggy Pop!
I remember when VH1 was a channel for Micheal Bolton videos. In high school I wrote a brilliant poem-letter to Iggy Pop that landed me a small scholarship.
Wish I had saved the conversation I had last night where a friend called me a sugarbeet. It made me smile.

that's exactly why I love that song
VH1 get off the air!
And speaking of VH1, does anyone else mind the fact that they've turned into Mtv3? You'd think a company as big as viacom, with as many channels as they own, would do the smart thing and let every channel create and manage their own identity...but no...
back in the 80's my parents only let me watch VH1 (when they were around)and it was torture...VH1 was the "adult channel" while mtv was the wild rebel channel for the youth...now they both play the same fucking cheryl crow and nickelback videos...booo!
can we get a real music station again please? one we don't have to import from canada just to get some decent music?
Re: VH1 get off the air!
fresh programming. You'd never find The Real World on VH1. A couple weeks ago they just played hours of Pink Floyd. You won't find that on MTV, no you won't.
Re: VH1 get off the air!
there was a day when they didn't share any music, they had separate focuses...i liked those days better...but i do prefer VH1 over Mtv
music is so diverse that there should be more variety in what's played on music channels...
