it's Christmas time

threeplusfireWe decided to take our presents to Metro, eat dessert and drink coffee. Riotously funny to see us opening gifts and laughing like children. Stuck bows on our heads and grinned.
I gave Melynda the enormous Harry Potter print, the cover of the first book, to hang up. Also a dvd of First Knight so she may sigh longingly over Heath Ledger, and a beautiful blue bottle of lavender vanilla lotion. Her smile gleamed. In turn she gave me Harry Potter Uno, a writing set with a quill pen and stickers, and socks! I've been teasing her about socks for weeks, because she had remarked that she didn't know what to get me. I kept facetiously suggesting socks, driving her batty. She found Slytherin socks, and a pair with Golden Snitches which I'm wearing right now. I am so amused.
We played Uno for a time, and then more rounds of Shanghai Rummy with Matt and Tara. Gave a handsome boy a cigarette. I let Melynda read my story, and she pointed out my double use of a word. Such an editor she would make! Brilliant. She seemed quite amused anyhow.
I perhaps will lay down now and dream up new words for the next bit. It's freezing, quite literally, outside and the heat it turned on. Warm and wrapped in blankets, I will dream.
Yesterday I almost bought a $400 bedspread because it was furry and beautiful. I am mad, yes. But damn it was so cool.
