I ran from the spider in the bath. I hate those big ones, with their pale brown stripe and long black legs. Why do they get in the bath tub?

As seen in many a journal elsewhere. I'm hoping someone will give me some interesting ideas.

Recommend to me:
1. A movie
2. A book
3. Music
4. A livejournal
5. A website

a movie:
in theaters: the man who wasn't there
on video: exotica

a book:
the master letters -- really really really, you more than most people on LJ would enjoy it

music:
PJ Harvey -- stories of the city, stories of the sea -- it's so New York, and it's so before it all happened.

Thank you. Your post on The Master Letters intrigued me, so I've been watching the shelves at work much more closely. May have to break down and buy it from a regular store soon. I got excited the other day when I found some Ellen Kushner on the the sci-fi shelf, but it wasn't the one I wanted. Maybe I'll get a gift certificate for Christmas.

And music... What about "The princess and the warrior" soundtrack? Or "Amelie" soundtrack?

thanks

Oh, I love Ada. I think it's my favorite Nabokov novel, that it's so hard to pick just one. I wrote an exam paper on it, and a short story in that style for my class a few years ago.

I like that movie. Have you seen both versions? There is the original, and I think it's Marlene Dietrich or someone equally fabulous as Sand. Then there is the remake, with Julian Sands. Mmm, fun.

I've only seen the remake. I bet the original is great too.
