At work I realized I left my wallet at home, and since I had arrived quite early I went home to retrieve it. Normally a short, uneventful drive. I'm probably the only person in the world who wishes for a longer commute.

At the connection of eastbound 183 and southboundMopac, there is a soaring overpass bridge. I almost slammed into someone today as I pulled onto the bridge, because several cars were slamming on the brakes. Then I saw why.

A medium sized black and white dog, with a blue collar was on the highway. WIthout thinking too much, I pulled over and hit my emergency lights as I scrambled out onto the overpass. I just could not drive by with a dog out there.

I managed to herd him onto the grassy medium beside the access road, but my efforts to catch him were in vain. At least I got him safely back over the access road and into an apartment complex. I think he mnight have lived there, because he headed straight for a small crawl space under the metal fence.I hopped back over the guardrail and crawled into my car. Thank God that dog left the road. I feel bad that I didn't catch him, as I could see he had tags. I hope he went home.

Strange that my dreams echoed reality closely today, in voice and action.

Work was quiet. Saw some friends, did some homework, and played on the moving equipment. Ryan showed us how to slide across the floor on these little rectangular contraptions used for moving the shelves. Lots of fun. Closing consisted mostly of me spinning around while listening to the Counting Crows. Made myself a little dizzy.

It was a slightly mad thing to do. I was terrified I would drive the dog into traffic.
