In the last couple of months of high school, I played mash to keep myself together. Repetitive, controlled motion. Excessively complicated lists of possibilities. I had nothing else to do in the time when a normal person would have been making friends or paying attention to the lessons. Instead I listed places, cars, rock stars and book characters. When I ran out of simple choices, I started creating convoluted lists. Flowers, fabrics, rings, the first book I would write, the names of pets and children, all sorts of strange things. I might even still have some of those notebook pages. They survived the fire.

Charly is fixing my brakes today, and I'm sitting at home eating an entire tin of almonds. The sun shines and the wind blows.

Hehehe, because of similar behaviors of mine at that age, I keep not being able to bring myself to play with the online MASH thing -- it frightens me almost, so afraid of what other people think of how important make believe is to me.

I spend too much time trying to bend the game to my will. Heh. It's more fun on paper anyhow, because of the time it takes to get through everything.
