Micah emailed me, and he calls me babe, which I find endlessly amusing to have friends like Melynda and Micah who use such endearments. It makes me smile, this odd and faint connection to my Southern roots. Lately I've thought a lot about the land I was born in. Texas Independence Day was on the 2nd. There are a great many things about Texas I don't like at all. Yet there are so many more things that I do. When I move to Prague, I think I'll need a cowboy hat to wear every now and then.

My camera and my grab bag of soaps and things shipped today, so I will be checking the mailbox often. Oh the fun we'll have once I have a digital camera.
