Dinner: New York strip steak, rare just the right way. Baked potato. Ceasar salad with anchovies. Key lime pie and five nut brownie. Gin and tonic. There are many reasons why I only eat this way once every few months. It's good though, I think. It's something to relish. I can safely say that was the tastiest steak of my life.

I managed to drag Gene back to Metro for two card games. Later N/A managed to make Melynda furious, and I wanted to throttle him being a bastard. I do not understand these creatures that we become so fond of. They're maddening, inscrutable, obtuse. Often rather charming too.

Making cherry pie. I can't wait til we move into out new place.

do you mix up your own filling? we use the sour pitted cherries with sugar and reserved juice and liberal slabs of butter on top in my family :)

and my grandma's crust, to quote the bf, is "like candy." of course...her's always turns out better than mom's or mine. we are much better one one-crust versions. but for a while i was really good at cherry pie. we had it lots during our twin peaks phase, bill and me :) i have a lovely recipe for "Summer plum pie" -- need to wait for red plums to be in season, but if you would like i could send it to you :)

houston's has to be my favorite "chain" restaurant. there is something very comforting about it, i think. your dinner sounds marvelous and i love here about this pie craze! :) hehe

mmm butter

Usually, unless I'm feeling exceptionally lazy. I usually like to use some nice dark cherries and make a simple almost glaze to hold them together.

Plum pie sounds divine! I like plums. This pie craze is so much fun. Perhaps I'll run off and be a pie maker when I grow up. ;)
