The Afghan Whigs are good driving music. Angry, screaming music. The way he screams is good.

I wanted to stay asleep yesterday, in darkness. Work was blessedly quiet at least.

My dreams have been epic, stories. I wake up wondering if I'm back in the supposed real world or not. Last night it was vampires and werewolves, rare Beatles albums on white vinyl, Czech pubs, apartment blaconies.I'm not sure what is responsible for the cinematic quality of my sleep. A pity I can't record any of this.

I find the best way to clear the mind after a long sojourn into the Russian soul is to play video games nonstop for about 24-36 hours. I highly recommend Final Fantasy III, Battle Arena Toshinden II or Grand Theft Auto III.

Aha! Soul Calibur is also an excellent one. I miss my friend's Dreamcast. You're hit the point right on there. The Russian Soul is rife with corridors of mirrors and twisting narrow staircases opening on dachas, from which you can run out into another countryside. On and on, I don't think we could ever find the end.

Ever onwards into the labyrinth...
