I realized tonight, on my second beer, that all I ate today was an exceptionally tasty macaroon. Pure coconut chocolate goodness. Thank my lucky stars that Gene made me take home the pizza, because the prospect of cooking at 1am while starving and aching would have made me cry.

What a long damn day.

Beer is good.
I'm trying my hand at a "Czech" beer now... 22L of it (Pilsener with Saaz hops) is bubbling along nicely here...

Neato. :) I can't wait to go back to the land of good, cheap beer.

Are you lagering it?

That's the funny thing... no, none of the supermarket homebrew kits come with lager yeast, no matter what kind of beer they say they are (just as all commercial beers here are lagered (I think), even if they claim to be ales etc).
Our climate isn't really suited for lagering though -- it's almost winter and it's still 25 deg C (77F?) during the day. Hopefully I'll try lagering one day, but don't have the time at the moment anyhow (I'd like these two brews bottled and stockpiled before my parents return :D)
