Combine 2/3 to 1 cup sugar, depending on natural sweetness of the berries 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 teaspoons quick-cooking tapioca
Sprinkle combined ingredients over the berries and stir gently until well blended. Let stand 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Turn the fruit into a 9-inch pie shell. Dot with 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter.
Cover pie with top shell. Bake ten minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 35 to 40 minutes.
