Right as I left the house this afternoon, it started to rain. One of my favorite scents in the world is the smell of rain in the summer, hitting the hot concrete and the dry earth. It was gorgeous, so I turned up the music and left the window down as I drove. Gliding across the overpass to Mopac, with a crescendo of horns and the thick drops of water in my hair, wishing for all the world that I had a french horn so I could learn to play this music.

Made a number of paper cranes tonight. Sam gave me the idea to write little things on their wings. I gave one to Mike, one of my favorite Metro folk. Read about half of Ivan Klima's Lovers for a Day, and I seriously need to revise my opinion of the man. It's good work.

Oh, this score is amazing. Really one of the best things I've heard in ages. Somewhere I have the soundtrack to The Piano and I should find it. Tonight I was one of those people I longed to be at fourteen, driving with the window down and blasting classical music.

Hmmm...that's a good question. My work load's doubled whilst the damn capital murder case goes on. When are you leaving again?

I leave town July 22nd. Don't have much going on, except my grandmother and aunt are coming to visit the weekend of the 13th. I'm all done with classes as of next wednesday too.

Do you have any plans over the weekend after the 4th? Maybe you could come that Saturday and stay over? That would be on the 6th, I think.
