stop look and listen

Nine hours in Metro, several stabs at Warcraft, three or four cups of coffee, some peach ice cream, one socio-political debate, one encounter with a deranged homeless person, two rounds of cards, and one suicidal possum later, I'm home. All for $5. Not a bad day at all.
I had a long and interesting conversation with Kirk of all people. It's strange to consider my position enviable, because I live here too much. But I suppose from the outside it must look tempting. There was also a heated and wide ranging political discussion earlier. We circled round eliminating poverty, trade, terrorism, Iraq, Russia, NATO, aid programs and back again. Very interesting. (One of those conversations you imagine having when you're young and think going to college will immerse you in fascinating and important things, and people who are impassioned.)
My horoscope today says: You are stronger than you think. I hope so, I truly do. So much hinges on that now.
Saw a woman in the Renaissance Market today who looked remarkably like a taller version of Reive. I am vastly annoyed that the deluge is keeping me from visiting Cate this weekend. I don't know what I'm going to do to fill the time now.
Some bird lives outside the apartment, and the sound it makes is so much like the noise my modem makes when it disconnects that I find it disturbing. I wonder if it's a mockingbird, or something else entirely.

Ignore that last if it is too weird or personal.
