I enjoyed the Virgin Suicides, which I saw for the first time with Keith at midnight on a Saturday. It was not until I had seen the movie a few times that I read the novel, which has even more strange detail. I woke up early and watched it beforeI left for Prague last year.

After hours of language instruction, David and I decided the only natural thing to do is eat some ice cream and drink gin tonics in a cafe near the train station. It was pleasant, relaxed.

There is a French boy, dressed in black with silver rings, and headphones on all the time. I like to watch him, for all the memories it brings. Though I have sworn off such things these days, it seems.

We have an exam on Saturday morning. Oh dread. It is not so bad. The teacher is leaving, and we will have another one next week. I have to write another essay tonight. Noticing my speech is picking up a lot of weird British slang, in addition to random Czech. My Czech is getting better I think. Though I shall never equal the grammatical prowess of some people I know.

Off, off to the grocery store.

Bohuzel, milačku. Byla jsem unavená, a každý den jsem zapomněla čarky a accenty. Myslím že, je to škoda.

Moje kočka se jmenuje Stín. Jmenuje se Stín protože on je černý. Tak, on už není černý. Já myslím, že teď je zelený. Teď Stín smrdí hrozně taky. Myslím že on je mrtvý. Moje spolubýdlící Melynda mi ho zabila. Ona má nerada kočky, zvlástě Stín. Doma Melynda často kychá. Často Stínovi nadavá. Ona říká: ,,Zasraná kočko! Ty vzdycky líná všude! Já budu sakra tebe zabit!" Stín a já se bolíme Melyndu. Stín myslí, že ona je zlá. Ale ja nevím. Mám rád Melyndu protože ona mi kupuje pivo. Máme radi pivo. Stín rád měl pivo, taky, ale teď je mrtvý. Sedí v koutě. Já mu dát pivo. On má rád pivo.
