I find it a puzzling thing, that shops close quite early on Saturday. Ah well. Perhaps it is better that way, so I do not buy another dozen soaps to cram into my luggage.

Spent my day wandering around, drinking coffee, eating ice cream (mixed berry and pistachio), enjoying myself. It is quiet.

Actually, in most of the civilized world shops close early on weekends, where they're open at all. There are usually fewer television commercials, too.

People in those countries often think of themselves as "citizens", rather than "consumers". Might be something to try out here in the USA...

I admit, it must be nice not to have to work retail all weekend. I just wonder when people with day jobs find time to buy some things.

When I was in Budapest I had to go to the bread place no later than 7:00AM, since they'd be out by then anyway. I wonder if people just shop before work instead of on the weekends.

I have not heard a word. Though I am guessing with the marriage and stuff, she just wants some time away from the net. I would like to know how she is doing.
