Some of the raw edge of the past few days has let up. Down to a dull roar, it is a bit easier to deal with.

Passed a pleasant evening at Metro and the apartment with Gene and Melynda. Played Shanghai Rummy and even won, managed to find my first year Russian textbooks, picked up some little things from the house. Gene killed a "pre-Cambrian" cockroach in the living room, the kind of bug that Razorart loathes.

You can't stand it when things don't work out the way you expect them to. Ideally, you would like to see a beginning, middle and end, but you may be looking at a circle right now instead of a straight line. Your instincts tell you to grab onto that which is tangible. Follow whatever guidelines your intuition tells you to follow.

I hate it when those things are right.

I didn't think you got those monsters in Texas. Isn't the climate somewhat dry?

It varies a lot, in the summer it can get humid as hell. Like walking through wet cotton, especially in Houston.

We have monster cockroaches, even the big flying ones. My mom almost killed us once when a giant cockroach flew in the window of the suburban, and she let go of the wheel.

Oh boy.... the Houston area is famous for its roaches. Three or four inches long, and you can't get rid of them. Warm, humid.... it's what they've been loving for the past five hundred million years, and it's what they'll be loving for the next five hundred million years.
