I'm watching Gene pace back and forth across the porch, since the rain has quit coming in sideways. It's rather grey, thanks to the storms in the Gulf.

Things are quiet, and for the moment I feel a sort of peace. If it is content, or just simply calm, I don't know and don't care. Sometimes, I wish there were more of these moments, that I could construct a lifetime from such things. I like watching him, the way he stands, the gestures, the smile...

Lots of playing today, and I am beyond amused.
