Sometimes, it pains me beyond measure that the only thing I could choose to believe in does not exist.

Watched the new trailer for the Two Towers today, and it looks even more exciting. I can't wait for this.

The sky hangs grey outside, and a little damp, making it hard to summon up the energy to clean the fridge or work on my story. I'm still tired, from the dreaming.

Some things are more real than others.

I'm with you- I pine for things that never were (at least not here) on a daily basis.
And can I just say- I am SO glad they didn't change the name of the movie because of post-9/11 pressure. That would really have pissed me off.

I can't believe anyone would think changing the name of the movie would have improved the world one bit. Bah.

I agree...I'm also glad that they weren't pressured into changing the title. However, I have to admit that whenever I see the title "The Two Towers," the Lord of the Rings film is not the first image that comes to my mind.

It's all about context. People on the whole just have to learn to pay attention and seperate out the different meanings of words.

It's understandable that the phrase evokes a very different image at this time. But that's still no reason to change the title.

For those people directly affected by 9/11, I don't think they have the option of separating those words at all. You can't easily control the onset of those emotions. Still, it's something we all have to deal with, and I don't think it would have been right to change the title.

I have never quite gotten over the belief that I can walk from one real world to another, and that it's just a matter of the right pitch, or the right word, or the right gesture.

There are ways.....
