many short pieces of living
Listening to Remy Zero and licking cake batter off my fork, with all the windows open, and the stereo up to cover the sound of the washing machine, which means I may miss the timer on the stove, so I've got to pay attention, but the sky is beautiful and blue and I can't believe it but I have become the one that's older now...
as the earth swung
this golden hum
seemed to wash over me
as the bells ring
I heard you sing
and call me out to see
and you said how did you know?

you still looking for a job?

Re: you still looking for a job?
I'm on call for 1 week out of every 3 weeks. I'm back-up on call for the second week, and I'm off for the 3rd. If somebody finds a wild animal in a building at UT, I go try to catch it and release it. These are mostly bats. I get paid a dollar an hour for the week that I'm on call, plus every time I get a call, I'm paid for 3 hours of work at $8 an hour. My boss is pregnant and will probably go on maternity leave in a few months, so it's possible that there will be some extra work. The only time I'm not on-call during the on-call week is when I'm in class. I guess that's what sucks - it's a part-time job that doesn't really allow you to have another job. At least, you have to be able to run go catch an animal whenever you get a page. But it's a great job. And you get FREE rabies shots!
