threeplusfireSam's party was a quieter, less raucous affair than last year. We did amuse ourselves by acquiring a large metal trashcan and building a fire. At one point, we were lighting cigarettes off the side, and one could see the metal changing colors. It kept us warm through the night, and provided a great deal of amusement in chasing the occasional burning ember that flew out.
Matt and I had out usual far ranging conversations, from how we believe, based on Dune, that the Jews will just never be completely eliminated from the world. Punctuated by Matt doing his "I'm One of God's Chosen People and You're Not" dance. We actually have serious discussions of religion, sometimes. Mostly we talked about boys, and opening a bar, and trunks full of dildos. We are vastly amusing to ourselves, and sit on the edge of the group making random, pointed observations.
Jim decided to drop a plastic cup in the fire. Not a good idea. I think that smoke is toxic. Which might explain my headache.
I drove home in Gene's car, listening to Bad Religion. I forget every now and then, just how much I like that band. Especially listening to "Anathesia" at full blast at two in the morning.

Date: 2002-12-08 01:22 pm (UTC)Okay, I shouldn't talk, because most of the more hard-core Jews don't acknowledge that I'm Jewish, because my mother isn't Jewish, just my father. And I was sort of raised like half-catholic-half-jewish, and can't really get by in anything but a Reform Jewish service, because I never went to Hebrew school. So maybe I'm not one of God's chosen people after all...
