threeplusfireWent outside a few times today, because it is grey and wintery at last. The clouds cast a shadow that chills my toes. It smells like Christmas, wood smoke and the electric hum of tiny colored lights and pine trees.
Been reading and thinking and obsessing all day long. Living in a world that exists only in the plastic under my fingertips, the paper and the screen.
Derek called me yesterday to inform me he made a 4.0 this semester. I'm slightly concerned that the world might end now.
Tomorrow I'm going to bake a ham, and make a little Christmas meal for Melynda and Gene. We're going to exchange presents, since they are both leaving for Houston on Tuesday. I hoep they like their presents. Well, I know Melynda will adore hers. If Gene doesn't like his, I'm keeping it. I want it. I think we all bought gifts for each other that we know we want to play with also. Heh.
