Went to see my mother and the animals today. The cats and the dog all came to be petted and adored. The dog's hip x-rays came back superb so my mother was very happy. Talked a little bit about wedding stuff, about my sister's legal troubles and such. Basically she's been offered a sweet plea deal that would net her very limited time in jail and four years of probation. She would be crazy not to take it.

Alan and I tried on rings this afternoon. We finally know what size ring he wears, and the sort of band we both like. It was quite a productive and happy trip. Stopped by to chat for a few moments with Melynda at her job. She stopped by the apartment to have a kolach and watch King of the Hill with us, complete with oddly romantic Dale Gribble. Heh.

It's taken me hours to write this post, being distracted in another window. Maybe I'll just type up my grocery receipt. It's pretty good. We bought things like juice and chicken and bread and ice cream and I even had coupons.
