Spoke at length with my grandmother today, who as ever is full of useful advice and such. She seemed impressed that I was on top of the wedding shenanigans, and even offered to help out with somethings. Like tablecloths, as we need tablecloths of sorts. It is decided that I am conning some of my friends into making snack type things, and I must pester Cate for recipes for her chile potato things.

Made an appointment for cake tasting next week with a fabulous local baker. Her emails were enthusiastic and I have a good feeling about it. Mmm cake. Now to ponder the mysteries of wedding cake, and what I want it to look like. Annie also recommended a couple florists, and I think I'll start calling round later this week.

In ten hours I have to be up and functional, so as to meet Rachel and Melynda at the store to shop for bridesmaids dresses. I should probably go look for shoes, so I can take wedding dress to be altered soon too. So complicated when all thought of at once, but really not so bad.

Bank account disasters today. My bank took my credit card payment and paid off someone else's card, which I was right royally upset about. Fortunately it only took fifteen minutes on the phone to get it straightened out, and they are refunding the finance charges. How unpleasant.

I need new glasses. Badly.

Late night television is so boring. I should play Final Fantasy instead, or finish The Winter King, because I certainly can't sleep. I crave super garlic marinated olives.

Yeah! I mean wtf? How hard is an electronic funds transfer?

I should be glad though, that in all the time I've been with this bank they've only ever messed up once, but still

Weird bank shit.

How do you feel about carrot cake? Mark and I had a carrot cake from the best bakers of same in the city, back in 1989, with cream cheese frosting, and got lots and lots of compliments for having chosen a real cake, as opposed to a bland white cake. (The most common wedding cakes here are dry, bland white ones which might have been near a piece of vanilla, covered with lard frosting, and occasionally with something like apricot jam in between the layers. Having politely eaten bites of those too often [I can still feel them in my digestive tract - they never leave], I recommend anythine else.)

OOF. that bank business is nutso. i would never have though to call a credit card and have charges removed till living with someone who was finacially irresponsible. she was constantly calling her creditors and making "deals." since i always pay my bill off, i never thought i would need to do such a thing...however, right before the wedding i sent off my credit card bill payment and when i got my next statement i had all these finance charges. i'd paid about 23 cents to little or somethign and was being charged on my honeymoon charges------EEGAD. i called and they cleared it up for me afterlooking at my good record of payment. it's a pain though.
