Lunch with my father was very nice. We ate at Chinatown, which shares a building with the northern location for Mushashino and has fantastic decor. I love the purplish ceiling and the gigantic cabinet in the entrance stairs. They offer several styles of Chinese and the fattest dumplings in town. We are pleasantly stuffed, and there was good conversation. My father appears to like Alan, which is a relief on some subconscious level. His company is doing work on two of the city's biggest projects, the skyscraper on Congress and the new high rise ridiculously expensive lofts.

Dad also offered to get me new glasses, which was an enormous relief and a very sweet gesture. So I must hit Melynda up for her discount, and go make an eye appointment. It's been at least two years now. My eyes cry out for relief.

I'm happy, I'm happy.

Eeeeeeeeee!

I'm so glad you're happy! Parents are scary things, ona conscious and unconscious level.

Particularly when weddings are involved.

It was mostly the stress of not having seen the man for well on six months after the debacle with having my sister arrested. That tends to strain family relations when you put one of them in jail I suppose. But he seems to have put all that aside and while I will never hear an apology from him about the way he behaved at least he's making an effort now.
