My favorite part of Gangs of New York is the early bit where you see Priest Vallon, and the battle in Five Points. With the music, it seems like what Baz Luhrmann might do if he made a violent film. Reminds me somewhat of his Romeo + Juliet and older MTV work, stylized and in sync with the music.

Yup yup yup. Which honestly made me really annoyed when I saw the movie the first time, but then by thte time it was over, I was like "wow, smart smart smart."

And we'll find out with Alexander... speaking of which -- have you been following the gossip from the Stone pic? About Colin Farrell flashing everyone?
